Deratisation, disinfection, disinsectisation
Deratization, disinfection, and disinsectization are processes intended to protect the health of the individual and society, as well as to limit economic damage. The field of Deratisation and Disinsectization includes processes for limiting the population of pests such as rats and cockroaches, to such an extent that they do not pose any danger. Disinfection is a cleaning method (for equipment, spaces, or people) with which we inhibit the growth of microorganisms and destroy them.

At its 19th regular session on 25 July 2013, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Decision on the Establishment of the National Laboratory of Health, Environment and Food (NLZOH). According to this government decision, all regional Institutes of Public Health ceased to exist on the day of the establishment of the NLZOH.
