In 2013, on the basis of amendments to the Health Services Act \u2013 ZZDej-J (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 14\/13), the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted a Decision on the Establishment of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), and the Decision on the Establishment of the National Laboratory for Health, Environment and Food (NLZOH), which performs the tasks in the field of health, environment and food defined by special regulations, and unites all laboratories and related professional activities of the former ZZV and IVZ. On the basis of the Decision on the Establishment of NLZOH of 25 July 2013, the National Laboratory of Health, Environment and Food started operating on 1 January 2014.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What guides us<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Today, the National Laboratory of Health, Environment and Food (NLZOH) is the central and largest Slovenian public health laboratory<\/strong> that handles environmental protection, diagnostic and public health microbiological activities, chemical and microbiological analyses of different types of samples, and also performs research activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The laboratory provides services for the needs of the state<\/strong>, especially for the needs of monitoring public health factors, as well as official inspection and supervision under the competence of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food, the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, and the Ministry of Defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also offer our services to clients on the free market<\/strong>. In collaboration with other Slovenian and foreign institutes, we participate in national and international research, applicative, and consulting projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
